Eric Clelland, vice president of sales for Cyan, states that the wireless backhaul is an exploding market opportunity that many of the firms' customers are eager to utilize. "We're pleased that our TowerAware solutions have been instrumental in giving our customers the service differentiation, scale, and performance they need to prevail in highly competitive backhaul bids," said Clelland.
In response to heightened customer demand for edge-optimized solutions, the firm recently introduced the Z22 as the latest component of its TowerAware solution. The 2RU packet-optical transport platform provides carrier-grade functionality, with great scalability and superb performance that exceeds edge routing and Ethernet switching solutions for Ethernet-centric edge applications like 3G/4G wireless backhaul.
Temperature-hardened in the industrial rated environment temperature of 65 degrees Celsius, the Z22 will is perfectly suited for remote cabinets and at cell sites in fiber-to-the-tower (FTTT) environments.
The technology also supports 10 Gigabit connection oriented Ethernet wireless backhaul services on fibers which work on existing packet or SONET/SDH services, thus it can easily snap into existing networks. This capability will scale fiber and capacity constrained edge networks.
Cyan also introduced an end-to-end network latency modeling to CyPlan, thus giving more rooms for efficient designing and planning of multi-layer backhaul networks to accommodate the stringent SLAs frequently affecting major mobile service providers.
The Cyan Z22 and the CyPlan latency modeling will be featured in Cyan's booth (#108) at the Comptel Plus Fall Convention and Expo in Florida.
